Meet Our Evangelists

John M. Kilgore

John’s secular training is a BBA in accounting from Southern Methodist University. In time past he has worked for an international accounting firm and as a manager of a waste removal company.

In 1974, John began working with the Alston Road congregation (in Alief with only thirty people at that time). For many years, the Christians here have supported him so he can devote his time to preaching regularly and to engage in evangelistic efforts around the country.

For several decades, John has been the director of the Florida College Dry Creek Camp, a Christ-centered summer camp serving over 380 youth each summer. John is also one of the partners and instructors of the Singing School LLC, which holds courses every summer to train song worship leaders in the art of congregational song worship.

Scott Kercheville

Growing up in a Christian home, Scott was baptized at 14 years old. Scott met his wife Ashley at Florida College before they both transferred to Western Kentucky University. Scott and Ashley were married at Lost River Cave and completed their Accounting (Scott) and Elementary Education (Ashley) degrees in 2011.

Before finishing school, Scott decided he wanted to preach and teach God's word full-time. To gain experience and mentoring, Scott received training from his father (Berry) and from his older brother (Brent) from 2012-2014. In July of 2014, Scott moved to Southwest Houston to preach, teach, and help equip saints in evangelism at the Alston Road Church of Christ.
